In pot experiments on the frequent sterility of apparently normal cruciferous plants, using rape in a basally manured slightly humous sandy loam of pH 5.9, B had no effect on the amount and sugar concentration of the nectar or on the yield of straw, but was indispensable for seed production, which was satisfactory only when the pollinated plant was well supplied with B.
