In field experiments the total P uptake by oats and potatoes from broadcast super marked with P32 was greater when the super was incorporated into the soil at a depth of 18-22 cm than when it was incorporated near the surface, although P uptake at the beginning, of plant development was greater from super near the surface. Placement in the rows or planting holes combined with deep incorporation of broadcast super is the best way of supplying the plants with P.
