The influence of fertilizers on yield and specific gravity of potatoes grown in Alaska

The Arctic Seedling potato var. was grown with 27 N-P-K fertilizer treatments. Treatments consisted of all possible combinations of N at 15, 30; or 45 and P and K at 30, 45, or 60 lb. per acre. An increase from 94 to 255 bushels per acre was obtained from the lowest to the heaviest fertilizer treatment. The sp. gravity increased from 1.0731 to 1.0764 with the higher rates of P, and decreased from 1.0767 to 1.0729 and from 1.0761 to 1.0733 with increasing rates of N and K, respectively.
