The introduction of wart-resistant varieties-a guarantee for the successful control of Potato wart

According to data obtained from the Potato and Vegetable Administration, Ministry of Agriculture, U.S.S.R., the cultivation of potato varieties resistant to wart disease resulted in a 25 to 30 per cent. yield increase in many parts of the Union. In recent years 15 new, resistant varieties have been developed, including Oktyabrenok, Imandra, Agronomichesky, Zazernuy, Zven' evoi, Trudovoi, Partisan, Kalev, Kungla, and Early Priekul'sky.
