The late-flushing lowland spruce: a climatic race proof against late frosts

The late-flushing lowland spruce: a climatic race proof against late frosts

Forstarchiv 24: 196-98

The author reports the discovery, in 1926, of a stand of Norway Spruce possessing a high degree of resistance to frost. Seeds from trees in this stand, which was situated near Nieder-lausitz, eastern Germany, were planted out and the seedlings were found to inherit the frost resistance of the parent strain.
