The purification of antitoxic plasmas by enzyme treatment and heat denaturation

The purification of antitoxic plasmas by enzyme treatment and heat denaturation

Biochemical Journal 42(3): 390-397

A description is given of a large scale process suitable for the purification of true antitoxins, but not for antibacterial antibodies, by treatment of immune plasmas with pepsin followed by critical heat denaturation in the presence of a protein denaturant. , The prepn. of the purified antitoxin for therapeutic use is described.
