(NH4)2SO4 depressed yield of clovers more than did urea or nitro-lime (NH4NO3 + CaCO3), and gave slightly higher yields of dry matter and N in grasses. Urea is probably the best form of N for grass for out-of-season grazing and grass-seed production in New Zealand. One large application of -N gave as much crude protein in the grasses as did split applications.
