A non-virulent strain of Aujeszky's virus produced by pigeon passage.

A non-virulent strain of Aujeszky's virus produced by pigeon passage.

C.R. Acad. bulg. Sci, 14: 187

A pigeon-adapted strain of Aujeszky's disease virus immunized rabbits and mice. When passaged by combined s/c and i/m injection, its pathogenicity for other animals decreased and the incubation period in pigeons was reduced to 48 hours after the thirtieth passage as compared with 15 days at the beginning of the experiment.
