A study of the correlation between different pairs of physical and mechanical properties of Teak (Tectona grandis) grown in various localities of India and Burma

A reasonably high positive correlation was found between sp. gr. and maximum crushing strength for both natural and plantation-grown Teak. Correlations with rings per inch were not significant. For some of the localities sampled, sp. gr. could be used as an indicator of maximum crushing strength, with a fairly high degree of precision.
