Characterization of three hemicelluloses from the wood of Amabilis Fir (Abies amabilis)

Characterization of three hemicelluloses from the wood of Amabilis Fir (Abies amabilis)

Canad. J. Chem 41(6): 1381-8

DOI: 10.1139/v63-188

Cf.F.A.22No.3617; 24No.4435.) Anarabino-4-0-methylglucuronoxylan, and a water- and an alkali-soluble galactoglucomannan were isolated in yields of 7, 4 and 8%, and their structure was established. It is concluded that the main hemiicelluloses are the same as those occurring in the wood of gynmosperms of other genera. The same hemicelluloses were also present in bark.
