Complement a la connaissance du cycle evolutif de Bothrio-cephalus claviceps (Goeze, 1782), cestode de Anguilla anguilla L

Comptes Rendus des Seances de l'Academie des Sciences, Paris, 256: 121-4122

Experiments showed that a second intermediate host is not obligatory in the life-cycle of Bothrio-cephalus claviceps from eels. Adult cestodes obtained in June from eels caught in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, France, produced eggs when placed in fresh water. The liberated coracidia were ingested by Macrocyclops albidus. 100% of the copepods became infected with 5 to 25 proeercoids within about 12 days of being placed amongst coracidia.
