Concentration of penicillin in the blood of sheep after injection of crystalline, procaine or benzathine penicillin.

Med. Wet 18: 14-17

Eighteen adult sheep weighing 30-36 kg. were used. After i/m injection of crystalline penicillin (6, 000 i.u./kg.) a therapeutic concentration (1.6-0.09 i.u./ml. of blood) was maintained for 4 hours; after 10, 000 and 20, 000 i.u./kg. the therapeutic level was maintained for 6 and 8 hours respectively.
