Cytogenetics of Vicia cracca and V. tenuifolia

Cytogenetics of Vicia cracca and V. tenuifolia

Genetics today. Proceedings of the XI International Congress of Genetics, The Hague, The Netherlands, September, 1963. 1: 133 p

Of the three chromosome races of V. cracca, those with 2n = 14 (a) and 2n = 28 (b) are morphologically and caryologically similar. The 12-chromosome race (c), tentatively identified as V. cracca ssp. geraldi, appears to have arisen from (a) as a result of one or probably two interchanges and the subsequent loss of one chromosome.
