Effect of ethyl alcohol and starch on digestibility of nutrients and on nitrogen retention at two levels of urea feeding

J. Agric. Food Chem, 7: 50-53
Effect of ethyl alcohol and starch on digestibility of nutrients and on nitrogen retention at two levels of urea feeding
The basal ration was of hay, molasses and minerals, with urea supplying 60 per cent. of total N. For 2 experimental rations starch or ethanol of equivalent energy value was added. There were 2 rations in which urea supplied 27 per cent. of the N, with soya bean meal to maintain the level of crude protein, one with alcohol and maizemeal, and one with equivalent energy from maizemeal only. The sixth ration was of hay, molasses, soya bean meal, maizemeal and minerals.
