Effect of plant regulators on fruit drop, size and quality in sweet oranges (Citrus sinensis Osbeck) var. Jaffa, Pineapple and Mosambi

The trees were sprayed after fruit set with 2, 4-D at 5, 10 and 15 p.p.m., 2, 4, 5-T at 10, 20 and 30 p.p.m., 2, 4, 5-TP at 10, 20 and 30 p.p.m. and NAA at 25, 50 and 75 p.p.m. Fruit drop during April-May was unaffected by the treatments, but a maximum reduction in pre-harvest drop in October-November occurred in Jaffa and Mosambi oranges treated with 2, 4, 5-T at 30 p.p.m., and in Pineapple oranges treated with 2, 4-D at 15 p.p.m.
