Effect of watering treatment, seed treatment and date of sowing on emergence and damping-off of Cotton seeds. Damping-off disease of Cotton. 1-Studies of the causal organisms and their pathogenicity

Effect of watering treatment, seed treatment and date of sowing on emergence and damping-off of Cotton seeds. Damping-off disease of Cotton. 1-Studies of the causal organisms and their pathogenicity

Ann. agric. Sci, Cairo. ; 1/2: 2/1, 161-176; 81-94

Fusarium vasinfectum was isolated most frequently from damped-off cotton seeds, but Rhizoctonia solani (not present in winter) was most pathogenic; Mucor sp., Rhizopus nigricans, Pythium debaryanum, and Stemphylium sp. were also isolated. Emergence was better in the presence of all the 6 fungi in the soil than in the presence of any one alone. All the fungi were seed-borne.
