Abstract
In non-tilled soils the improved water intake associated with low soil salinity was confined primarily to the tree irrigation furrows, the structure of the soil between the rows being adversely affected by orchard equipment traffic. Salinity was much less in a soil treated with calcium nitrate than in soils treated with sodium nitrate or ammonium sulfate.
