Abstract
The method of Neale and McFadden (New Mexico Agric. Exp. Stat. Press Bull. No. 1131, 1954) of estimating clean fleece weight from density, staple length, bodyweight and grease fleece weight was found to be more accurate and cheaper than that of scouring small samples. Calculations on the results from the 344 sheep studied showed that little information was lost when density and bodyweight were omitted.
