Abstract
Test tubes containing sand or vermiculite-sand moistened with N-free nutrient solution were sterilized and 2-3 aseptically germinated seeds sown in each. Normally prepared soil suspensions were used for inocula. Serial ten-fold dilutions were made up. The number of tubes for each dilution was 5 or 10. By applying Halvoron-Ziegier's table "most probable numbers" were calculated from the frequency of nodulated tubes for each dilution.
