Comparative investigations in Serbia, Yugoslavia, in 1955 showed that M. fructigena predominated in some 80% of the orchards, and is more prevalent later in the season, increasing on plum from mid-July to a max. towards the end of Aug. and on apple increasing in early July to a max. in early Aug.
