Gibberellin-like substances were found in the leaves of both long-day plants, such as Rudbeckia bicolor and Nicotiana sylvestris, and short-day plants, such as Perilla nankinensis and N. tabacum var. Mammoth. The total amount of these substances was greater in both groups of plants under long-day than under short-day conditions.
