Abstract
For part 2 see Abst. 1548, Vol. 29. 3. The feeding value of grain rations in which urea supplied 0, 30, 50 and 70 per cent. of total N was studied in a trial of 4 x 4 Latin square design lasting 120 days with 4 groups of 4 Holstein cows. The urea rations were supplemented with sodium sulfate. All cows were given a basal ration of hay and ground maize cobs. As the level of urea in the ration rose milk production showed a slight but non-significant decrease.
