Increasing income and production on Indian farms: possibilities with existing resource supplies on individual farms

Increasing income and production on Indian farms: possibilities with existing resource supplies on individual farms

J. Indian J. agr. Econ, Bombay, July-Sept. 16: 3, 1-16

The article tests by means of linear programming technique the hypothesis that in Indian farms there exists an important potential (more than 20%) of increasing farm income and production by adjusting the existing resources on the farm while employing the present technique of cultivation. The data collected by the farm management inquiry in the Ahmednagar and Nasik districts of Maha-rashtra State during the period 1954-55 to 1956-57 have been used for the purpose.
