Increasing yield by means of reciprocal recurrent selection with a dent maize and a flint maize partner

Two cycles of reciprocal recurrent selection, using two dent hybrids as one partner and one flint synthetic as the other, resulted in a marked increase in combining ability for yield together with a narrowing of the genetic basis.
