A part of the N fertilizer was side-dressed at the stage of flower-bud differentiation, the transition stage of floral development, the time of bolting and the flowering period. N applied at the bolting stage increased the number of secondary branches, flowers and fruit. Applying N at flowering caused a high percentage of fruit setting.
