Inheritance of anthocyanin pigmentation in leaf blade of rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Three varieties, CP12, an indigenous variety with a deep purple leaf blade and designated purple in this study, CH17, an introduction from China with a lighter purple pigmentation, designated purple wash, and CHI7 mutant, with very light pigmentation termed faint purple wash, were crossed amongst themselves and with nine nonpigmented (green) lines in various combinations.
