Inheritance of ear length in barley. III. The effect of two main morphogenetic components upon the resulting level of expression of the character

Inheritance of ear length in barley. III. The effect of two main morphogenetic components upon the resulting level of expression of the character

Biologia. Bratislava, 18: 09

The number of spike internodes and their average length in genetically homogeneous populations both showed a normal distribution, the former being the more variable character. The variability of each character was dependent upon variety and was also affected by environment. Selection within a variety for a specific level of expression of either character was ineffective.
