Inheritance of flower colour in rape, B. napus L. var. oleifera Metzger

Segregation data from a large number of crosses indicate that three genes determine flower colour. As was suggested by Sylven in 1927, A and B are responsible for the following colours: normal yellow, AB; dark orange yellow, Ab; pale yellow, aB; and pale orange yellow, ab. The recessive gene c accounts for the creamy white colour but is only effective in the absence of dominant A.
