Inheritance of flowering type in red clover

Inheritance of flowering type in red clover

Abstracts of the Annual Meetings of the American Society of Agronomy held at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY on August 20-23 1962. 63

The inheritance of flowering types exhibited by red clover genotypes in the seedling year was studied. Plants of Dollard representing the following three flowering types were used: type one, strong rosette and no floral stems; type three, rosette with a few flowering stems; and type five, weak rosette with many erect flowering stems. General combining ability was highly significant while specific combining ability was not significant.
