Inheritance of head type and the association of morphological characters and straw strength in spring oats

The experimental material used in this study consisted of 12 hybrids, derived from six lines differing in head type and straw strength. "There was evidence that the inheritance of dense head type was controlled by a recessive gene for a single factor pair. The modifier was present in some crosses.
