Inheritance of low iodine value of safflower selections from India

Inheritance of low iodine value of safflower selections from India

Econ Bot 17(2): 139-145

A single gene ol, when homozygous, reduced iodine value from the usual levels about 140 to about 90. This gene changed the proportions of linoleic and oleic acids in the oil. The fatty acid content of each seed was determined by its genotype, not the genotype, of the plant carrying the seed.
