Inheritance of reaction of a diallel set of diploid Alfalfa clones to two pathogens of the blackstem complex

Inheritance of reaction of a diallel set of diploid Alfalfa clones to two pathogens of the blackstem complex

Diss. Abstr, 23: 5, 1496-1497

At S. Dak. State Coll. excised leaves from parental, selfed, and F1 lucerne clones were sprayed with inoculum of Phoma herbarum var. medicaginis or Cercospora zebrina, or both floated on 2% sugar sol. and incubated at 68-72 degrees F. in the dark for 6 days. After this the extent of infection was visually estimated on a scale 0-10. Evidence was obtained that C. zebrina was antagonistic to P.h. var. medicaginis.
