Inheritance of reaction to stem rust in crosses between four vulgare spring wheats

Progenies from diallel crosses of Frontana, Kenya 58, Mayo 54 and Marquis were tested in the seedling stage for their reactions to races 15B, 11 and 38 at a greenhouse temperature of 70 degrees F. Seven genes, designated A, B, C, D, E, F and G, were identified. Frontana carried A and B, Kenya 58 D and E and Mayo 54 D, E, F and G; C was derived from Marquis. Response to 15B depended upon A, D, E and G.
