Litter-size, sex-ratio and segregation of coat color were observed in 3 different crosses, silver X silver, platinum X platinum, and silver X platinum. Platinum is dominant over silver. Platinum in the homozygous state is lethal. Crosses of platinum X platinum produce silver and platinum individuals in a 1:2 ratio. Litter-size differs according to type of cross. In silver X platinum, the litter -size is very small and approximates that of platinum X platinum. Small litter-size in these crosses is evidently due to the lethal factor. Sex-ratio was regular in all crosses indicating that both silver and platinum are autosomal characters.
