Inheritance of some agriculturally important characteristics of habit in F1 maize hybrids.

Three coefficients, viz. K1 = weight of ear: weight of plant, 2 = length: thickness of ear; and K3 = height of attachment of ear: height of plant, were recorded in a number of crosses. KB1 was in some hybrids higher than in either of the parents, in some equal to one or other of the parents, in others intermediate and in some lower than either parent. In the hybrid H-301 x Bor'ba Ulucsennaja, K1 exceeded that for one parent by 22.7% and the other by 74.3%.
