Inheritance of some morphological characters in crossbred sheep in Uzbekistan

Inheritance of some morphological characters in crossbred sheep in Uzbekistan

Dokl. Akad. Nauk UZSSR. 7, 48-50

Of 180 crossbreds obtained from Caucasian Rambouillet X polled fat-rumped ewes, all were polled except one which had very small horns. All the progeny of Lincoln (polled) x polled fat-rumped ewes were polled. In the indigenous fat-rumped sheep the tail is undeveloped; in the Merino and Lincoln the tail is long and thin. Merino and Lincoln crosses with fat-rumped ewes produce progeny, which do not have a fat rump and have a fat tail with an S-bend. Facial characters are also considered.
