Inheritance of stem rust reaction to races 15B, 11, and 56, in crosses of some vulgare wheats

Inheritance of stem rust reaction to races 15B, 11, and 56, in crosses of some vulgare wheats

Diss. Abstr 22: 957-58

The following varieties were used as parents: Kenya Farmer, highly resistant to each of the above races of Puccinia graminis var. tritici; Frontana, moderately resistant to 15B and 11 and resistant to 56; Hope, susceptible to 15B and 11 and resistant to 56; and Prelude, susceptible to all three races. The results from Kenya Farmer x Hope and back crosses suggested that the former parent was homozygous for two genes, K and C, for resistance to 15B.
