Inheritance of stem-rust reaction under field conditions and of awn type in crosses of the wheats DGV11, Rhodesian G12273 and Kenya 58

In crosses of the susceptible awned variety DGV11 with the resistant aristulate varieties Rhodesian C12273 and Kenya 58, both the F2segregation ratios were 9 resistant: 3 semi-resistant: 4 susceptible, indicating that Rhodesian C12273 and Kenya 58 carry two pairs of recessive genes with epistatic action. Awns were conditioned by a single recessive gene pair.
