Inheritance of woodfibre lengths in various species of Populus.

Inheritance of woodfibre lengths in various species of Populus.

Zuchter. 29: 3, 117-23

Measurements of fibre length were made on 10 species and hybrids from the sections Aigeiros and Tacamahaca and hybrids between the two. The findings of Liese and Ammer on P. X robusta were found to hold good for other species. Two distinct types of fibre (illustrated) were found, varying morphologically and, in the section Tacamahaca, in length.
