Inhibition by hypophysectomy of organ lesions normally produced by parathyroid hormone or dihydrotachysterol

Inhibition by hypophysectomy of organ lesions normally produced by parathyroid hormone or dihydrotachysterol

Laboratory Investigation; A Journal of Technical Methods and Pathology 11: 1332-1339

Experiments in rats indicate that both the soft-tissue calcification and the osteitis-fibrosa-like bone changes, induced by parathyroid extract or dihydrotachysterol (DHT), are considerably inhibited, though not completely prevented, by hypophysectomy. Hypophysectomy does not prevent the hyper-calcemia normally induced by DHT.
