Inhibition of mobilisation of depot lipids in man by administration of small amounts of glucose.

Inhibition of mobilisation of depot lipids in man by administration of small amounts of glucose.

Boll. Soc. ital. Biol. sper, 39: 1131-1134

Subjects were 30 patients without metabolic disorders or debility. After a fast of 15 h overnight each received a test dose of glucose either by mouth or by vein, in amount from 20 to 380 mg per kg bodyweight. Controls were given physiological saline. The smallest effective dose of glucose by either route was 40 mg per kg.
