Investigations on the physiology of coumarin in Melilotus species with high and low contents of bitter principle

Investigations on the physiology of coumarin in Melilotus species with high and low contents of bitter principle

Wiss. Z. Univ. Rostock : Math.-Naturwiss. Reihe, 11: 151 p

In grafts between Melilotus forms with high and low coumarin content (C), no effect of the stock upon the C of the scion could be detected; in biennial species, however, the scion determined the C of the overwintering root. Dry seeds of M. alba all had a high C, irrespective of their viability, but among soaked seeds only those with high germinating capacity had a high content.
