Liquid egg albumen, an effective diluter of fowl semen for artificial insemination

Liquid egg albumen, an effective diluter of fowl semen for artificial insemination

World's Poult. Sci. J, 15: 250-254

Fertility of eggs from 450 Single Comb White Leghorn hens increased from 13.6% when fertilized by semen diluted with 1:1 normal saline to over 50% when the thin part of egg white was used 1:1 as the diluent and buffered with phosphate buffer and citric acid to pH 6.8. A second series is reported with fertility about 90%.
