Abstract
An experiment was devised in which one of the objects was to investigate the possibility that L-thyroxine might be used to reduce the fat content of over-fat ewes. Fifty Romney ewes were divided into 10 groups of 5 ewes each and fed on either a normal or low plane of nutrition, with or without thyroxine treatment at 4 different levels, namely implantation with 150, 210 or 270 mg. or daily injections of 5 mg.
