Du Puits lucerne was drilled in Apr. 1960 alone at 25 kg seed/ha or in mixture at 20 kg seed/ha with 2 or 4 kg cocksfoot, 5 or 10 kg meadow fescue, 5 kg timothy or perennial ryegrass, and 2 kg Italian ryegrass/ha. In 9 cuts in 1960-2 lucerne/cocksfoot outyielded pure lucerne by 11.9 and 10.4% (DM basis) at the high and low cocksfoot seed-rate, respectively.
