A telephone survey of dairy farmers, calf rearing farmers, and finishing farmers was undertaken to discover opinions regarding dairy-beef cattle and the barriers to increasing the quality and quantity of dairy-beef cattle produced by the dairy industry. A total of 158 farmers were surveyed from throughout New Zealand. Dairy farmers make the most critical decisions regarding the genetic make-up of most cattle entering the NZ beef industry.
