(b) 2. Pregnant rats had the same diet as in the preceding part, with excess of vitamin A as an aqueous preparation from the 5th to the 15th day of pregnancy. Foetuses were taken daily from the 15th to the 21st day, and serial sections were made for investigation of cleft palate, which occurred frequently. Up to the 17th day there was scarcely any abnormality.
