Morphology and life cycle of apple leafroller, Archips termias Meyrick infesting apple in Himachal Pradesh

Indian Journal of Entomology 67(4): 289-290

ISSN/ISBN: 0367-8288

The life cycle of apple leafroller, Archips termias, was studied on apple under laboratory conditions (28 degrees C; 81% RH). The eggs were laid as irregular, greenish masses containing 33-197 eggs/egg mass (average of 113.4 eggs). The incubation period varied from 8 to 12 days and hatchability ranged from 28.5 to 94.9% (average of 65.7%). The larval stage passed through six instars and the body length of the respective instar was 1.6, 4.2, 8.4, 12.4, 15.6 and 20.0 mm.
