New spray controls rose spider mites

New spray controls rose spider mites

Florists Exchange 127(5): 15-41

Kelthane, about half as toxic to animals as PPT, is registered in California for use on ornamentals, and is effective against cyclamen mite, privet mite and 2-spotted spider mite. Plant tolerance appears excellent but caution is advised. Excellent control of chlorobenzilate-resistant mites on roses was obtained with combination sprays of azobenzene with either Aramite or chlorobenzilate. Although only minor plant injury was noted from these combinations, growers are advised to test them on a small scale at first.
