HM 1, HM 2, and Jaunpore maize varieties were sown on 20 dates (2-4 weeks apart) throughout each of 3 yr, and irrigated during dry weather. The highest yields of grain were obtained after sowing on 24 May and 5 Nov. for HM 1 and HM 2 and on 7 June and 19 Nov. for Jaunpore. Satisfactory crops could be obtained from sowings in July, late Oct. and Dec.
